Foch Vintage Reserve
Block 240 at Vieni Estates was planted with Foch vines in 1989. In 2012, the wine made from these five acres was used primarily to produce the 2012 Briganti Reserve. However, based on its early indications of greatness, 1,500 litres were set aside to age for eighteen months in barrels newly coopered from southern Ontario Oak.
The results were well worth the wait - our winemaker Mauro Salvador proudly declared this 2012 Foch a Vintage Reserve, and describes it as "intense red ruby with purplish reflections, elegant, harmonious, refined and intense with notes of wild strawberries, blueberries, gooseberries, vanilla and smoked wood: powerful and harmonious taste, dense and alcoholic, very persistent finishing with lingering fruits and vanilla.
